Meet The Reliance Team
Cody Shaver
Cody is the co-owner of Reliance, the lead attorney for Shaver Legal and a licensed general contractor. In total, Cody has worked in the the insurance industry for over 30 years. He started as an insurance company adjuster and worked up to VP of claims. This gives him excellent experience in understanding an insurance company's perspective. Wanting to do more to help claim victims, Cody became a Public Insurance Adjuster, starting Reliance Property Damage Consultants in 2016.
Cody recognized how the claims process was becoming overly complicated and how insurance companies were becoming more litigious. He went to law school while employed as a public adjuster specifically to learn how to win more battles and help more clients to fair and complete settlements as this claims process continues to change. Today, as part owner of a public adjusting firm and its sister company Shaver Legal, he is able to combine a hybrid approach, using the low fees and better property evaluation practices of a public adjusting firm together with the extra legal muscle and authority allowed to a private law practice to get the most done for clients.
Michael Carter
Michael is the co-owner and lead Public Adjuster at Reliance. He's been a licensed public insurance adjuster for 15 years and has worked in the insurance industry for over 20 years. Previously, he was as an insurance agent, giving him an up close look at how insurance companies delay and deny claims. He has also done estimating and operations management for contractors. Michael's extensive experience means he understands claims from the inside-out and has helped hundreds of people restore their property. His focus has always been on keeping clients at ease and using compassion during the difficult claims process. Outside of work, Michael enjoys gardening, pickleball, and spending time with his family.
Victoria Grobels
Victoria handles accounts receiveable, accounts payable, and general bookkeeping for Reliance. She has over 10 years of experience in accounting and bookkeeping.
Alrich Grobels
Alrich works as a desk adjuster, handling incoming and outgoing calls between the insurance company, contractors, sub-contractors, and Reliance customers. He has been a state licensed public insurance adjuster for almost 5 years and has handled many claims over those years ranging from small water losses to huge residential fires.
Maria
Maria is a dedicated team member who supports the Reliance office staff in scheduling, client management, and accounting tasks.
Sofia Carter
Sofia is the marketing and website coordinator at Reliance. In addition to designing and updating the website, she assists in the creation of promotional materials such as brochures and booklets, and updates the Reliance Instagram. She is currently a marketing student at Southern Methodist University and when she is not working or studying, her hobbies include cooking and spending time with friends and family.
Delano Howell
Delano works as a field public adjuster, representing Reliance in meeting with potential new clients, coordinating with contractors, and scheduling on-site inspections. He has been a state licensed public adjuster for over 5 years and has a strong history of meeting and exceeding client expectations, helping them get to a speedy and complete claims settlement.
